100 Prints Project #56 - In Memorium

Today marks the 35th anniversary of the death of my father.  Some of my warmest memories are of the time we spent in church and then gathered at my grandmother's house for egg coffee afterwards.

My hometown church is beautiful and full of wonderful sculptures and stained glass windows.  There is a statue in the back of church of Mary holding the body of Jesus after it had been taken down from the cross.  I've taken many images of the statue, but have never been moved by any of them.  I revisited this one over the weekend and tried something new by taking a texture file and using it as a overlay.  It brought me to tears when I saw it come off the printer on some beautiful velvet art paper.

Miss you dad.
