100 Prints Project #2 - The Guy at the Green Door

The second in the 100 prints project series. This one was taken during the People and Place workshop that I took a few weeks ago. As part of the workshop we went to the Green Door bar in Beaver Bay where they were having a street dance in the parking lot as part of "Bay Days". This was one of the security guys that adorned us with neon green wrist bracelets attesting to the fact that we had been deemed old enough to drink. He was a lot of fun and liked to give me a hard time. This image was taken with my Lensbaby with the double glass optic and the f4 aperture ring. Hope you like it.

  1. Brilliant decision to use the Lensbaby. It emphasizes his face and diminishes the potentially distracting aspects of the portrait (shirt logo, patterned hat) while still giving you a sense of his place in the world. I'm sure he would love to have a copy of this. Bravo to you for taking on people photos!

Jealous of the Lensbaby! And so wonderful for this portrait!
    This is fabulous!

  3. I've never experienced a lensbaby but it's given this image such a beautiful effect. You've captured him perfectly.
